The study aims to recruit young males and females between 18-35 years old with clinically diagnosed autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including Autism,
Asperger’s Syndrome (AS), or Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise
Specified (PDD-NOS), with or without co-morbid disorders.
The study uses a cross-over design, and each participant will go through two periods of four weeks - one with placebo and one with fish oil. Cognitive tests and questionnaires in addition to a non-painful finger-prick blood testing will be performed at week 0, week 4, and week 8. Standard baseline measures are screened at week 0.
NB: Participants will not be paid for participation but will receive free fish oil and the opportunity to contribute to autism-related, nutritional research.
